JAKARTA Defending champion Jorge Martin is declared fit for the Qatar 2025 MotoGP race which will take place at the Lusail International Circuit this weekend.
The driver nicknamed Martinator has passed the mandatory medical test which was held on Thursday, April 10, 2025. That allowed him to be on track and undergo FP1 sessions on Friday, April 11, 2025.
"That means we will see Martin stay on track for the first time since Sepang's test in early February 2025. This news is also good news for Martin, Aprilia, and MotoGP," MotoGP wrote on their website.
Initial medical examinations conducted in Europe previously confirmed the 27-year-old was able to travel to Doha in the hope of competing at the Qatar Grand Prix.

The race in Qatar will take place on 11-14 April 2025. This is the first time Jorge Martin has returned to the track after he missed the previous three series, consecutively in Thailand, Argentina, and the United States.
Currently Alex Marquez leads the drivers' standings with a collection of 87 points. He shifted his older brother Marc Marquez who failed to finish the race due to an accident in the third series at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas.
Marc Marquez is only one point adrift of his younger brother. The six-time MotoGP world champion is expected to return impressively and win the top of the standings.
On the other hand, Martin's failure to start the start of the season makes his title guarding a bit difficult. However, the opportunity to become world champion again this year is not impossible at all.
Martin came out as champions last season after competing with Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), who at the start of the season was still trying to find his best form.
