Qualifying For The 2025 U-17 World Cup, The U-17 Indonesian National Team Is Reminded To Prepare For A Stronger Opponent

The U-17 Indonesian national team will face stronger opponents in the 2025 U-17 World Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-17 Indonesian national team recorded slick results as well as made history after confirming their place in the 2025 U-17 World Cup. For this achievement, Garuda Nusantara was reminded to prepare for a stronger opponent.

The certainty of the U-17 Indonesian national team to appear in the 2025 U-17 World Cup was obtained after Nova Arianto's team won 4-1 over Yemen in the second match of Group C of the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup.

Three points from that match made Garuda Muda succeed in maintaining the top position of Group C with a collection of six points from two matches.

The result made the U-17 Indonesian national team ensure that they stepped into the quarter-finals of the U-17 Asian Cup as well as a road to the 2025 U-17 World Cup ticket.

As is known, the eight teams that qualified for the knockout stages of the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup automatically got a place in the 2025 U-17 World Cup which will take place in Qatar.

For the success of the U-17 Indonesian national team, Sumardji as the Chair of the National Team Agency (BTN) asked the team to prepare for what was needed when meeting stronger countries in the 2025 U-17 World Cup matches.

"We really have to prepare as well as possible and of course with that readiness it will make it easier for the team to face the 2025 U-17 World Cup which we will face," said Sumardji when contacted on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

In addition, Sumardji hopes that Garuda Muda can wipe out all matches with wins to win Group C winners of the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup.

"We are preparing for the remaining one game (against Afghanistan). We must be able to win and win Group C," he said.

Meanwhile, the 2025 U-17 World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 3 to November 27, 2025.
