Jorge Martin Prepares For Comeback At MotoGP Qatar 2025

Aprilia's Jorge Martin has missed three early series in the 2025 season (Facebook / Jorge Martin).

JAKARTA Jorge Martin will return to the top track in the MotoGP fourth round of the 2025 season at the Lusail International Circuit, Qatar, on 11-14 April 2025.

Martin, who is the defending champion in the latest release, has confirmed that he will return. He is just waiting for the final medical test results on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

"I have a great desire to return to the track. I am happy to be able to at least try the race in Qatar," Martin said in a press release sent by Aprilia ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix, quoted on the MotoGP website.

The rider nicknamed Martinator had to be absent from the previous three races due to injuries to his right hand and left leg during an accident during a pre-season test in Sepang, Malaysia.

Unfortunately, it continued with the next accident during practice ahead of the opening Grand Prix in Thailand. The second accident caused Martin to suffer a fracture and a skaphoid on his left hand, as well as an ipslateral heel fracture.

Both problems forced the 27-year-old racer not to compete in the Thai GP, Argentine GP, and American GP. The passing of the three series made Martin's chance to keep the title running low.

Martin said that the race in Qatar would build confidence in him with a RS-GP25 motorbike. However, he admitted that his condition was not 100 percent fit.

"Physically, I'm not even sure I'll be able to finish the race. If we could do it, it would be a win because that means I'm starting to recover," he said.

Currently Alex Marquez leads the drivers' standings with a collection of 87 points. He shifted his older brother, Marc Marquez, who failed to finish the race due to an accident in the third series at Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Austin, Texas.

Marc Marquez is only one point adrift of his younger brother. The six-time MotoGP world champion is expected to return impressively and win the top of the standings.
