JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) decided to withdraw the pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti from the 2025 Swiss Open.

Assistant women's doubles coach Nityamenda Maheswari said the withdrawal was made after considering Apri/Fadia's less than optimal results in their two latest tournaments.

"The results and performances in the last two matches were not very good. We decided to prepare Apri more in the next tournament," he said in a statement.

Apri/Fadia returned to play together after their last appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Since then, Apri has been sidelined from a competitive event because he has to undergo recovery.

After fitness, Apri returned to play with Fadia and began to play at the Orleans Masters and then continued to All England. This week's Swiss Open was supposed to be their third tournament after the comeback.

"In terms of game, Apri has not been able to maximize his ability when competing," said Nitya.

Indonesia has sent a total of only five representatives there. The remaining women's doubles Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi after Apri/Fadia were withdrawn.

The other four representatives are Putri Kusuma Wardani, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.
