Australia Vs Indonesia: PSSI Targets One Point

The chairman of PSSI released the Indonesian national team players and officials who departed from Jakarta to Australia (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - PSSI General Chairperson (Ketum), Erick Thohir, released the Indonesian National Team (Timnas) to go to Australia to undergo the 2026 World Cup Qualification continued match.

For this agenda, Patrick Kluivert as the coach of the Indonesian national team appointed 23 names in the squad. However, ahead of the match at the Allianz Stadium on March 20, 2025, only eight names of players departed from Indonesia.

They are Rizky Ridho, Muhammad Ferarri, Ricky Kambuaya, Septian Bagaskara, Ernando Ari, Nadeo Argawinata, Ramadhan Sananta, and Hokky Caraka.

These players and officials left for Australia on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 19.45 WIB and were released directly by the chairman of PSSI.

"Bismillah, I am releasing our players and the coaching team today to ensure maximum preparation," said Erick Thohir in a statement quoted Monday, March 17, 2025.

When releasing the eight players who defended the Liga 1 club, Erick Thohir also said that their condition was in good condition.

"We are preparing the players and officials so that the departure and arrival of the players can be good. No one is injured."

"The strategy of all squads to Sydney is also good. We'll see hopefully everything goes well when competing," said Erick Thohir.

On the same occasion, the chairman of PSSI hoped that the Indonesian national team could take one point home to open up opportunities for the Red and White Team to the 2026 World Cup.

"From the visit to the Kangaroo Country, the Indonesian national team is expected to return with at least one point," he said.
