Trent Alexander-Arnold Will Be Absent In Carabao Cup Final

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is doubtful of appearing in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United this weekend.

He suffered an injury in the defeat of the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, early morning WIB, against Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG beat Liverpool 4-1 on penalties at Anfield to reach the quarter-finals after winning the second leg 1-0.

Alexander-Arnold, 26, was replaced by Jarell Quansah in the 73rd minute, with reports saying he had an ankle injury.

"Trent had to leave the field. That's not a good sign. What I hear from the people who saw the pictures or how he was injured, it didn't look good. So I would be surprised if he was available for Sunday (March 16, 2025)," said Arne Slot.

Alexander-Arnold's injury will also be a blow to the England National Team, which will host Albania on March 21, 2025, and Latvia three days later in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Slot called his team's elimination from the Champions League a surprise, but was entertained by losing to an outstanding PSG team in a very entertaining two-legged match.
