JAKARTA - Aldila Sutjiadi and Janice Tjen's persistent resistance has not succeeded in winning against host couple Victoria Osuigwe and Alana Smith. They lost 3-6 and 4-6 in the W35 Arcade ITF finals in California on Sunday.

Aldila and Janice seem to have made maximum efforts. This result is considered quite good because this is the first tournament that Aldila participated in after being absent for five months due to illness.

From the start, Aldila has also stated that her participation in this tournament is more of a warm-up to Indian Wells.

The Aldila/Janice pair started the ITF W35 Arcade tournament with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over the US pair Alyssa Ahn/Daniele Wilson in the first half. In the quarter-finals, Aldila/Janice beat Japan's Haruna Arakawa/Natsuho Arakawa with a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 victory.

Aldila/Janice faced tougher challenges in the semifinals when they were tried byctional Sebov/Anastasia Tikhonova. However, Aldila/Janice managed to overcome the opponent's challenge to win 6-2, 1-6, 12-10 and secure a place to the final.

Aldila plans to take part in WTA 1000 Indian Wells on March 5-16 and then continue with the Miami Open on March 22 April 3.

Meanwhile, Janice also appeared in the singles in this women's special competition. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old player's move was stopped in the first half after losing 7-6, 4-6, 2-6 to Japanese tennis player Haruna Arakawa.
