JAKARTA - Indonesian men's singles badminton player, Alwi Farhan, is ready to fight at the 2025 German Open which will take place at Westengie Sporthalle, Mulheim, Germany, on February 25 - March 2, 2025. Despite having problems in preparation, Alwi remains optimistic that he can give his best performance.
The 19-year-old badminton player admitted that he had an ankle problem while competing in the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships (BAMTC). However, he confirmed that his condition is now getting better and ready to compete.
"So far I have been healthy. Indeed, there is a slight problem in the ankle, but I hope that before the German Open everything will be ready," said Alwi at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center, Jakarta, recently.
The 2023 junior world champion revealed that the right ankle injury began to be felt when he appeared in the semifinals of BAMTC 2025. Even so, with the help of the medical team and the use of the pain killer, he was still able to contribute to the Indonesian team, especially in the final against China.
"During the semifinals of BAMTC, I started to feel a little pain in my right ankle. Grateful, the recovery process went well. It was still felt during the final, but with the help of a pain killer, I was finally able to play without being too disturbed," he explained.

Thanks to his slick appearance at BAMTC, Alwi's world ranking has now managed to penetrate the top 40.
