Marc Marquez Tops The 2025 MotoGP Test In Buriram

JAKARTA Six times world champion from Spain, Marc Marquez, managed to top the first day of the 2025 MotoGP test which took place in Buriram, Thailand, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

The racer, who just joined Ducati Levono Team, completed his second session (FP2) at the International Chang Circuit with a time of 1 minute 29,1840 seconds.

This is the first time Marquez has managed to occupy the front position in a test session since he did so at the Jerez Circuit, Spain, in 2020.

The second place was claimed by his younger brother Alex Marquez from Gresini Racing. Complementing the top three is Franco Morbidelli from Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team.

This result also confirms Ducati's dominance. However, the spectrum of the Desmosedici GP25 engine from the Borgo Panigale manufacturer has yet to be decided.

Currently, there are still small details that show the 2024 engine still has more advantages after Marquez and his partner Francesco Bagnaia underwent tests and provided input.

Bagnaia, who has twice tasted the MotoGP world title and failed to defend it last season, completed the first day of Buriram's test in eighth position.

A good record was also made by Aprilia who underwent a test without defending champion Jorge Martin who was injured during a test in Malaysia and had to be absent for recovery.

Without Martin's presence, Aprilia managed to occupy the fourth overall position through their rider Marco Bezzecchi. This is a big improvement in time records.

A row after that to complete the top 10 positions were Pedrodeca, Luca Marini, Johann Zarco, Francesco Bagnaia, Brad Binder, and Jack Miller.
