Mourinho Admits Ndombele's Training Session Violated British Government Protocol

JAKARTA - Jose Mourinho admits he violated the UK government's COVID-19 guidelines when he was training with Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele on Tuesday, April 7.

In several photos spread on social media Twitter, the Spurs boss is seen practicing in Hadley Common, north London with close proximity to one another.

Government regulations designed to combat the spread of the coronavirus state that citizens can only train with members of their homes.

"I accept that my actions are not in accordance with government protocol and we can only make contact with members of our own household," Mourinho told Soccerway on Thursday.

"It is imperative that we all play our part and follow the government's advice to support our heroes in the NHS (UK public health service program) and save lives."

Stats Perform (a sports data and analysis company based in Chicago) understands Mourinho is trying to respect social distancing instructions by staying a minimum of two meters from Ndombele. But the fact is, the France international is from a different home so this point is somewhat debatable.

Spurs have been doing regular training with their players online during the Premier League break. Videos of the sessions were shared via their social channels.

Meanwhile last month, Mourinho volunteered to help Age UK and Love Your Door Step. He helped prepare food packages and other important things to help elderly people living in self-isolation due to the corona virus pandemic.
