JAKARTA - Jose Mourinho was fired from the post of manager of Tottenham Hotspur on Monday. However, he is certain to receive large severance pay.

The Portuguese man, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in 2019, was released on Monday morning. He left the Spurs in seventh place in the Premier League.

Chairman Daniel Levy decided to sack Mourinho after Spurs drew 2-2 with Everton on Friday night at Goodison Park. For Mourinho, it was a premature end to a job in the Premier League.

According to the Independent, the former head coach of Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid will receive a severance package of around £ 16 million (equivalent to IDR 324.9 billion).

In fact, this is not a high number for Tottenham, who last year received £ 175 million in fresh funds (IDR 3.5 trillion) from the Bank of England to help them through the COVID-19 crisis.
