JAKARTA The boxer who controls the heavyweight belt from Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk, has been named the Best Fighter of 2024 by the American Boxing Writers Association (BWAA).
BWAA has officially released their annual award which named the best 2024 boxers, fights, coaches and managers, as well as several supporting awards on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Usyk, who became world champion, is undisputed by defeating Tyson Fury twice in 2024 and being named BWAA Best Fighter Sugar Ray Robinson this year.
Previously, Usyk also received the prestigious Muhammad Ali-Joeign Fight of the Year award from BWAA. The title was given to him after the first clash with Fury which took place 12 rounds on May 18, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Apart from Usyk, BWAA also awarded the Eddie Futch Trainer of the Year award to Robert Garcia for running his boxing academy in Oxnard, California, United States.
