Persib Coach Called PSS Benefited From Playing At Home

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung coach Robert Rene Alberts assesses PSS Sleman will benefit in the first leg Menpora Cup semifinal, at least in terms of comfort because the match takes place at home, namely Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Friday, April 16 tomorrow.

"Actually, the initial match cannot be done at each other's home, yes. But because PSS and Persib Bandung made it to the semifinals, PSS returned to their home so they would be more comfortable," said Robert, during a virtual press conference ahead of the Menpora Cup semi-final, Thursday was reported by Antara.

Moreover, said the coach from the Netherlands, PSS is also strengthened by the material of good players.

"Sleman has spent a lot of money to bring in new players, good players," said Robert.

However, Robert ensured that his squad would fight hard to win the semifinals and qualify for the finals.

"We have achieved our desired target of reaching the semifinals and being able to play against PSS tomorrow," he said.

The next target, said the 66-year-old coach, is of course to qualify for the next round, namely the final, as desired by the Maung Bandung squad.

"We want to achieve new targets to enter the finals so that we can realize the wishes of our friends in playing football," concluded Robert.

A total of four teams have qualified for the Menpora Cup semifinals, namely PSM Makassar, Persija Jakarta, Persib Bandung, and PSS Sleman.

Furthermore, the four teams will undergo a semifinal match which is scheduled to take place from 15-19 April 2021 in two legs, namely at Maguwoharjo Sleman Stadium and Solo Manahan Stadium.

In the first leg, Persija will meet PSM Makassar on Thursday, April 15, while Persib will compete against PSS Sleman on Friday, April 16, 2021.

The two matches will be held at the home of PSS Sleman, namely Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Yogyakarta.

The second leg, PSM Makassar against Persija on Sunday, April 18, 2021, while PSS will meet Persib again on Monday, April 19 at the Solo Manahan Stadium.
