Penalty Awaits Klye Walker For Breaking England's Lockdown Rules

JAKARTA - Kyle Walker faces the risk of punishment from Manchester City after an alleged violation of the implementation of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic or the corona virus in the UK.

City said they were disappointed after Sunday newspapers claimed that Walker had a party with a friend and two women at his home in Cheshire on Tuesday.

The club said Walker's behavior was directly at odds with their efforts to support major public services during the pandemic, and said the defender would face disciplinary investigations.

Walker's alleged violation of social distancing rules follows a separate episode involving Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish. He already apologized after partying and having a traffic accident last weekend.

City said in a statement: "Manchester City FC learned of a story in a tabloid newspaper about Kyle Walker's private life in connection with the breach of the UK lockdown and social distancing rules.

"Footballers are global role models, and our staff and players have worked to support the extraordinary efforts of the NHS and other key workers in fighting the impact of the coronavirus, in any way we can. Kyle's actions on this issue have directly contradicted efforts. this.

"We are disappointed to hear of the accusations, await Kyle's swift statement and apology, and will undertake internal disciplinary procedures in the coming days."

Walker, 29, made 21 Premier League appearances during the 2019-2020 season before the league was suspended due to the pandemic. This is his third season at City.

The England full-back won the title twice in succession during his first two seasons after joining the club from Tottenham.

Regarding the accusations made against him, Walker expressed regret for having done something beyond the limit.

"I would like to take this opportunity to issue a public apology for the choice I made last week," Walker told The Sun on Sunday.

"I understand that my position as a professional footballer carries the responsibility of being a role model.

"Having said that, I would like to apologize to my family, friends, football club, supporters and the public for disappointing them."
