JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali gave appreciation to 3 teams (PSM Makassar, Persija Jakarta and Persib Bandung) related to the orderly behavior and discipline shown by supporters and spectators did not come to the stadium during the round of 8 of the Menpora Cup 2021.

"I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to the general public and especially to our football lovers. Especially the supporters, fanatical supporters of the club who have obeyed the appeal and fulfilled the commitment did not come and also did not crowd," said Minister zainuddin Amali while being the speaker of the Program Lunch Talk Berita Satu TV virtually at sitroom Kemenpora, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, April 12.

Amali also asked the football lovers community to understand and accept if it was decided that Leagues 1 and 2 were held without spectators because the COVID-19 pandemic was still high.

"Please understand if the pandemic is still high then if it is decided there will be no more spectators for the League 1 and 2 competitions please it can be accepted, solely for our safety together," said Minister Amali.

He assessed what has been shown by supporters, club owners, supporters during the Menpora Cup 2021 has been good.

"The government appreciates and thanks. Let's take care of this. We can continue this if the situation is still as it is now let alone the spread and mutation of the COVID virus," he said.

"The competition will still be carried out the issue whether there are spectators in the stadium or just from home, it will be awaited. Please once again support the government, Task Force Covid because this must be together. If we want to see passionate football again then we must make efforts to immediately reduce the spread of this virus," he concluded.
