The COVID-19 Pandemic Is Not Over, Serie A Clubs Are Prohibited From Holding Training Sessions

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 pandemic or the corona virus has stopped football in almost all over the world. Moreover, Italy, one of the countries with the largest number of cases. To that end, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has banned Serie A clubs from training until at least April 13.

Napoli and Lazio were among the clubs that withdrew from training plans last month. With Italy's national lockdown extended until April 13, Conte has rejected plans for training sessions for each team at Spaghetti Country.

"The actual measures were extended to April 13. We know we have asked for another effort, another sacrifice," Conte said. Launch Soccerway, Friday, April 3.

"We have to understand one thing - if we stop following the rules or reduce these steps, we will waste our efforts."

Conte added: "The only news that continues to be heard is about athletes' training sessions ... training sessions are not allowed at club headquarters.

"That doesn't mean athletes can't train themselves, they can do it individually."

So far more than 13,100 people have died from the coronavirus in Italy, with the global death toll exceeding 46,000.
