JAKARTA - David Moyes said he was pleased West Ham United won 3-2 over Leicester in the Premier League tie at London's Olympic Stadium on Sunday night, but he highlighted the omission his team often showed in controlling the lead.

In the last three games, West Ham have always had a 3-0 lead over their opponents, but they were often negligent when they were eventually beaten 3-3 by Arsenal and only won 3-2 against Wolverhampton.

"We were 3-0 up against Arsenal, also 3-0 over Wolverhampton and again 3-0 away from Leicester, it was a good result, but not that good when the final position was 3-3, 3-2, 3-2," Moyes said after the match reported by Antara on West Ham's official website.

"I have to try to end that trend. It can't happen again and we need to be able to manage that kind of situation well," he added.

Moyes rated West Ham as doing well in the first 60 minutes against Leicester, but then struggled in the final third of the game due to a lack of options in midfield.

That was not separated from the injuries that sidelined Declan Rice, Michail Antonio and Andriy Yarmolenko.

"We're a little short of options on the bench to be able to change things. We're short of midfielders for that," he said.

"But I was very happy to finally get the win and when the emotion of the match subsided, accompanied by a glass of wine, I could have been even happier with this result," Moyes said.

West Ham again secured fourth place in the standings with a collection of 55 points, just one point behind Leicester who are still one point above them.

The Hammers will next travel to St James' Park on Saturday, April 17, against Newcastle United who are involved in a battle to avoid the threat of relegation.
