Kumamoto Japan Masters 2024: 4 Indonesian Representatives Qualify For The Second Round

The men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto stepped into the second round of the 2024 Kumamoto Japan Masters (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Indonesia already has four representatives who managed to secure the ticket to the second round of the Kumamoto Japan Masters 2024.

Part of the first half match of the BWF Super 500 level event took place from Tuesday, November 12, 2024, morning to evening at Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium.

Of the seven Indonesian representatives who played, four of them qualified for the second round, one passed the qualifying round and entered the main draw, and three others lifted the suitcase.

The four representatives who passed the first round, namely Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardiano, Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin, and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.

Fajar/Rian penetrated the second half after stopping the pair Chen Zhi Yi/Presley Smith (United States) in two straight games with final scores, 25-23 and 21-11.

Meanwhile Leo/Bagas and Fikri/Daniel both repatriated the Chinese Taipei pair. The first pair won over Fang-Chih Lee/Fang-Jen Lee, while the second stopped Chen Zhi Ray/Lin Yu Chieh.

In another sector, the women's doubles Ana/Tiwi, who were the eighth seed in the tournament, qualified for the second round after stopping the Japanese women's doubles, Kokona Ishikawa/Mio Konegawa.

Sweet results were also obtained by men's singles, Alwi Farhan. The 2023 junior world champion went through two qualifying round matches to penetrate the main round of this new two edition year old event.

Unfortunately, the smooth running of the five representatives failed to be followed by Jesita Putri Miantoro/Febi Setianingrum and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi.
