Thailand 2024 MotoGP Sprint Race Results: Front Of Bastianini

Enea Bastianini is at the forefront of the 2024 Thailand MotoGP Sprint Race (Instagram/@bestia23).

JAKARTA - Enea Bastianini won the 2024 Thailand MotoGP Sprint Race at Chang International Circuit, Saturday, October 26, 2024.

The Ducati Lenovo rider took on Jorge Martin and his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, who finished in second and third place.

Martin, who started the Sprint Race on the third grid, managed to outperform Bagnaia who won pole position in the qualification.

He started the race behind the Ducati Lenovo Team duo. Martin overtook Bastianini on the starting line, then overtook Bagnaia at Turn 1, but both went wide to the exit of the track.

Bastianini then took advantage of the opportunity to lead followed by Marquez, Bagnaia, and Pedrodecana. Meanwhile Martin dropped to fifth.

The Pramac rider bounced back until he managed to win second place. However, he could not do anything to Bastianini because he was under constant pressure from Bagnaia.

Martin was among several riders who received track boundary warnings.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez secured the fourth stairs. He did not fight to maintain his position until he finished.

Apart from that, the incident happened to Pedrodeca, who was in fifth position. He Turn 3, the point where Marquez died in the Qualification.

The exit of Askosta made eight Ducati riders fill the top eight.

During the Sprint Race, hard front tires and rear tires are becoming popular choices. Only Joan Mir (hard back tire) and Alex Marquez and Aleix Espargaro (soft front tire) have different choices.

The hot weather and additional pressure put on the tires, Buriram is one of the places Michelin chose rear tires with stiffer constructions.
