Lifter Rizki Juniansyah's Father Dies

JAKARTA - Muhammad Yasin, the father of lifter Rizki Juniansyah, died at the age of 58 at his residence, Cipocok, Serang, Banten, Friday, October 18, 2024.

In a statement received, the former weightlifter breathed his last at 15.26 WIB. He died after suffering illness.

During his lifetime, the man who was born in Bandung, March 28, 1966, was listed as a bronze-winning weightlifter in the 82 kg class at the 1984 SEA Games in Bangkok, Thailand, and the 1987 SEA Games Indonesia.

Muhammad Yasin was one of the athletes who graduated from Ragunan High School in 1984. He is registered with a former national athlete who is now the coach of the weightlifting national training, Dirja Wihardja.

"At that time we were members of the national training athletes at Pintu Kuning, Gelora Bung Karno Senayan Stadium, and had joined TC in Hungary," said Dirja in a statement received.

Head of the Development and Achievement Division (Head of Binpres) PABSI, Hadi Wihardja, who is also Yasin's senior, also remembers the father of the 2024 Paris Olympics gold medalist.

"The deceased is very technical in studying coaching. Since childhood Rizki applied his knowledge and always shared and discussed with me. Goodbye Pedro's colleagues," he said.

Yasin left four sons and daughters. One of them is a former weightlifter, Rizka, who is the wife of a former weightlifter, Triyatno.
