Indonesian National Team Manager Ensures No Player Injured Against Bahrain

The Indonesian national team can appear with a full squad in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers (VOI/Ferry Tri Adi Sasono).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will appear with a full team while undergoing the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification against Bahrain. This was confirmed by the Chairman of the National Team Agency (BTN), Sumardji.

The Indonesian national team will face Bahrain on October 10, 2024, with the status of an away match. Ahead of the match, the squad's condition was confirmed safe, including players with abroad status.

"No players were injured. Shayne Pattynama was not injured. We have confirmed it. Sandy Walsh also confirmed that he was not injured. Jordi Amat can also join, has recovered from injury," Sumardji said in a statement quoted on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

Previously, it was known that Sandy Walsh, Shayne Pattynama, and Jordi Amat had reportedly been injured. However, it has been confirmed by Sumardji that the three of them did not suffer an injury and remain on the list of the Indonesian national team squad.

Meanwhile, two players who have just become Indonesian citizens (WNI), Mees Hilgers and Eliano Reijnders, were also summoned. Both have also been registered for the match against Bahrain and China.

"Already (Mees Hilgers and Eliano Reijnders). We will immediately register it. Hopefully this is a smooth process of moving associations so that later we can directly defend the Indonesian national team against Bahrain on October 10, 2024," said Sumardji.

The match against Bahrain will take place on October 10, 2024 at the Bahrain National Stadium. After that, the Indonesian national team will fight China at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium on October 15, 2024.

Sumardji said 27 players would be called up to fight Bahrain and China. Players based in Liga 1 will depart from Jakarta on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

"We will gather on Saturday, October 5, 2024. After dinner we will go directly to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. We will immediately fly to Bahrain. So, there will be no training first in Jakarta."

"There are 27 players in all. This will all gather directly in Bahrain. List of 27 players includes Mees Hilgers and Eliano Reijnders," said Sumardji.
