PT LIB Call Persib Bandung In The Aftermath Of Supporter Chaos

Persib Bandung fulfills PT LIB's summons in the case of rioting supporters (Instagram/@persib).

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of Liga 1 2024/2025 summoned Persib Bandung management regarding the chaos that occurred after the match against Persija Jakarta.

Chaos broke out in the sixth week of Liga 1 2024/2025, 23 September 2024. After the match which took place at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, hundreds of supporters attacked the field and attacked the stewards.

It was later discovered that one of the causes was incidents of violence and sexual harassment against supporters. This happened when the match against Port FC in AFC Champions League 2 2024/2025 on October 19, 2024.

To straighten out the problem, PT LIB summoned Persib Bandung in a meeting at the PT LIB office, Senayan, on Friday, September 27, 2024.

From this meeting, Ferry Paulus as Director of PT LIB confirmed that his party was only communicating to find out exactly what was happening.

According to him, even if there is a violation that occurs, then it is not the domain of PT LIB to impose sanctions.

"Based on the incident (corruption), PT LIB felt it was very necessary to summon related parties, especially those that did enter our realm. Here in a sense, yes, Persib Bandung," said Ferry Paulus.

"However, the summons should not be misinterpreted. From this meeting we did what is our domain. We only communicated, not an investigation," he said again.

Regarding sanctions, Ferry Paulus said that his party did not have the capacity to sentence Persib Bandung. You see, this is the domain of the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis).

Ferry Paulus also submitted all decisions regarding the sanctions for Persib Bandung to the PSSI Komdis.

"We have closed the results of communication with Persib Bandung and the supporters. Furthermore, from this meeting we will provide input for clarification of this meeting to the PSSI Komdis," he said.
