Naturalization Of Mees Hilgers And Eliano Reijnders Will Be Discussed In The DPR On September 17

The request for naturalization of Mees Hilgers will be discussed by the DPR RI next week (Instagram/@meeshilgers).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team through PSSI is pushing for the naturalization of Mees Hilgers and Eliano Reijnders to finish quickly so that they can appear on the agenda nearest the 2026 World Cup Qualification Third Round in October 2024.

The letter of application for naturalization of the two players has been submitted to the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani.

"The letter (of application for naturalization) has been submitted to the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives (Puan Maharani). Mrs. Puan has arranged a (work meeting) on September 13, 2024. However, we are currently at IKN," said Menpora Dito Ariotedjo.

Furthermore, Dito Ariotedjo said that Puan Maharani gave an alternative to discussing the naturalization request next week, to be precise, September 17, 2024.

"So, Mrs. Puan has an agenda for September 17, 2024. So, this is not my last working meeting as Menpora with the Indonesian House of Representatives, especially Commission X. Next week there will be another working meeting for naturalization," Dito said in a working meeting with Commission X on September 12, 2024.

Mees Hilgers and Eliano Reijnders are indeed being accelerated. PSSI also hopes that the two players can defend the Indonesian national team against Bahrain and China on October 10 and 15, 2024.

Mees Hilgers is a player who has North Sulawesi blood, Manado to be precise, from his mother, Linda Tombeng. Meanwhile, Eliano Reijnders is also from his mother, Angelina Lekatompessy.
