JAKARTA The Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) has asked the Government that the budget to be used for the implementation of the XVII 2024 National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) will not be circumcised.

Peparnas XVII 2024 will be held on October 6-10, 2024 in Solo, Central Java. Although it is only a matter of days, the budget for the event has not yet gone down.

The general chairman of the Indonesian NPC, Senny Marbun, admitted that he knew that the number of budgets that would decrease was very small. Therefore, he hopes that this figure will not be reduced again by the Government.

"The budget or budget is still tentative. Therefore, we ask the President for help, it is flat (still). What we want, at least not too much," he said.

Previously in the budget proposal, the figure offered for the 2024 National Papernas implementation was IDR 426 billion.

Senny said that he had asked President Jokowi for help in responding to the proposed budget so that later it could be accepted as desired.

"The President said that later we will review. Peparnas is the event we have been waiting for. Here we are looking for athletes, looking for seeds that we can hone in the future. It is hoped that Peparnas can run because the only athlete sports event is disabled in Indonesia, yes, Peparnas," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of PB Peparnas XVII, DB Susanto, said that when his party had carried out preparations, it almost reached 80 percent.

"All activities will be carried out when they have received confirmation of support from the Government regarding the budget," he said.

In addition, DB Susanto also stated that all venues for this activity were ready and only a few of them needed small improvements.

"There is no clarity on the budget, but we anticipate. The budget is indeed large if we break down. So this is where PB Peparnas will experience problems or problems that we have to regulate in such a way," he said.
