JAKARTA - The 2019 SEA Games will be held on November 30, 2019 in the Philippines. But it has not yet been officially held, the event is considered a failure in terms of its implementation. Not a few netizens consider this sporting event as karma, because it is no worse than the 2011 SEA Games in Indonesia. The 2019 SEA Games was considered a failure because the organizing committee was slow in preparing everything. Last weekend, for example, a number of men's soccer teams arrived in Manila, Philippines. They arrived early because the men's soccer ball was held earlier, namely on Monday, November 25 2019. Unfortunately, the teams that arrived earlier were not fully welcomed by the committee.

For example, the Cambodian men's U-23 team, as proclaimed by ASEAN Football News, Sunday, November 24, those who arrived in Manila at 04.30 am had to wait 12 hours to get to their hotel. As a result they had to cancel their training schedule.

The Timor Leste team also felt the same thing. After arriving at Manila airport at around 05.00 am, they waited for the shuttle bus for about two and a half hours. Worse, after waiting a long time, the bus drove them to the wrong hotel.

The Indonesian U-23 national team also got the impact of this situation. Indra Sjafri's foster child had to walk to the stadium because the shuttle bus didn't arrive.

In addition, the Rizal Memorial Stadium, which is one of the venues for the men's football branch of the SEA Games, is considered not ready. Even the stadium's press conference room hasn't been painted at all. It's like a Fyre Festival

Because of the chaos of the SEA Games, many netizens have likened it to the failure of the Fyre music festival which was held on the island of the Bahamas two years ago. For those who still remember, during the Fyre festival, visitors were made to wait at a Bahamian restaurant for hours at the start of their arrival, before finally being escorted to an inn which turned out to be only a tent for natural disasters.

The next disappointment is about the food. The best athletes who were imported from various countries did not get enough food to be at the level of national athletes. The same thing happened at the Fyre festival.

As reported by rappler.com, athletes are only served kikiam food (a type of brain), eggs, and rice before the match starts. Meanwhile, at the Fyre festival, the participants who were initially promised to get food from a famous chef, in fact only received ordinary sandwiches.

Seeing this condition, Indonesian netizens also commented on the Philippines' preparations for the 2019 SEA Games. They said, 'karma is real' (karma is real). This statement was made considering that during the 2011 SEA Games in Indonesia, the Philippines considered it the most chaotic event in history.
