Jadon Sancho Officially Visits Chelsea, But There's A Strange Clause From Manchester United

JAKARTA - Chelsea officially got Jadon Sancho from Manchester United as a loan player for the next season. However, the deal made football lovers shake their foreheads.

According to The Telegraph, The Red Devils gave a clause that Chelsea must buy Sancho next season after the loan period is over.

In fact, the clause was profitable considering that the Blues could get the 24-year-old striker at a low price, around 20-25 million pounds.

However, it turns out that there are conditions that are quite different from usual. Sancho's purchase obligation applies if Chelsea finishes in the last 14 of the 2024/2025 Premier League.

If the Blues are thrown outside the 14th place in the final standings then Sancho will return to Old Trafford.

No wonder, Chelsea fans responded to the clause jokingly.

Apart from that, Manchester United actually wanted 40 million pounds for Sancho. However, the price made the fans withdraw.

One of the right behind is Juventus. The Old Lady was initially at the forefront of getting the winger.

During negotiations with Juventus, The Red Devils had sold expensive in order to increase the price of Sancho.

Erik ten Hag claims Sancho is still needed and will stay at the club. The statement was clear to tug out negotiations and made Juventus want to spend 40 million pounds.

"As far as I know, I hope he stays, yes. We are happy with him. We need a good squad. We have to play a lot of games until January 2025."

However, it turned out that the strategy actually made Juventus withdraw. The Old Lady assessed that the price was still too high, especially since Sancho's salary was also large.
