Fighting The Dewa Kipas Tomorrow, Grand Master Irene: Hopefully After This We Can All Make Peace

JAKARTA - Grand Master (GM) Irene Kharisma Sukandar hopes that the friendly match with the owner of the Dewa Kipas account, Dadang Subur, can end the recent polemic.

"After this, no one should be harmed, because what we want to achieve is peace, it's over. But, we must uphold the principles of truth, we know something, what we have from the data, it can be a reference for truth", said Irene in a video on her YouTube account, quoted from Antara, Sunday.

Irene and Dadang are scheduled to compete and broadcast live via Deddy Corbuzier's podcast on Monday at 15.00 WIB.

"I will come as a professional chess player against Sir Dadang Subur in Pertandingan Persahabatan. So, I hope that after this polemic will end soon, from all parties", said Irene.

"It's just stopped here, don't extend it again, so we can focus again, I can focus on my training because there are a lot of events that I have to prepare. Hopefully, after this we can all make peace and ended well", she continued.

Personally, Irene expressed sympathy and respect for Dadang. "that's one of the reasons why I said I never challenged him".

"I really sympathize with him, I see that as a parent has a hobby of chess, he really loves chess, actually this touched my heart because we both love chess", said Irene.

In the last few weeks, the news about the case of the Dewa Kipas account, owned by Dadang Subur, who won the match against foreign chess player IM Levy Rozman (USA) under the account name GothamChess has been busy being discussed.

This occurred when the Board of Fans account was banned by chess.com which resulted in Indonesian netizens making "attacking" comments on the GothamChess and chess.com social media accounts, such as on Twitter, Instagram, and also YouTube for not accepting the Dewa Kipas account being banned.

Deddy Corbuzier invited the owner of the Dewa Kipas account to appear on his podcast. Likewise with Irene, who was present in a different episode of the podcast. Deddy Corbuzier's podcast team then took the initiative to create a Pertandingan Persahabatan (match) between Dewa Kipas and Irene.

In the video uploaded on his YouTube account on Saturday, Deddy Corbuzier said Pertandingan Persahabatan would be interesting. He even admitted that he received an offer from a television station to broadcast the match, but he refused.

"We want to make this a Pertandingan Persahabatan, at first here, finally here, we will compete on the chessboard", said Deddy C.

"If GM Irene wins extraordinary, we give awards, applause for her, but she is also a Grand Master. If the Dewa Kipas wins we find gems on the seabed, no one will know".

Deddy Corbuzier also invited everyone to support both parties, and also the chess world in Indonesia in general.

"Let's just support, let's just help, which is the world of this arena. Irene and Sir Dadang, whatever happens later, whoever wins later, there is nothing worse for the chess world in Indonesia", he said.

"Whatever it is, it brings extraordinary euphoria for viewers or for young people to "wow chess can be like this, extraordinary. "So, it has to make a scene, why not, for our nation, for our country", he added.
