Indonesian Volleyball Team Swallows Second Defeat At AVC Challenge Cup 2024

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Women's Volleyball Team lost their second in the third match of the Pool B AVC Challenge Cup 2024.

The Red-White team lost 0-3 against Kazakhstan with a score of 17-25, 13-15, and 22-25 in Saturday, May 25, 2024.

Kazakhstan appeared superior with the stunning game of Zhanna Syroyeshkina. He scored 23 points in the match at Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila, Philippines.

A total of 19 points Syroyeshkina was generated from attacks and four others were service aces.

"As we were a little unorganized, our coach reminded us to relax, and take the opportunity to rearrange our focus," said the 23-year-old.

Indonesia actually played well. It's just that they were hot late.

It is only in the third set that Bela Sabrina Agustina and colleagues can provide fierce resistance. Their coordination is starting to go well.

However, the revival of the Indonesian Volleyball national team still could not secure the third set.

The reason is, Kazakhstan managed to get up and got momentum to stop Indonesia's resistance to close the third set as well as the match.

Kristina Belova became an important actor in Kazakhstan to secure the third game and win the 3-0 match.

"The key to this victory is actually teamwork, how we help each other, knowing that we really want to win after losing yesterday (from Vietnam)," he said.

Syroyeshkina and Belova are the new generation of Kazakstan players who have learned from more experienced team members, aka seniors.

They have shown their spurs to take on their roles in the first team of Kazakhstan.

"I want to learn from my senior players, such as Sana Anarkuluva and Irina Kuznetsova. I always pay attention to how they move and guide the team."

"I'm happy to be here and have the opportunity to play for Kazakhstan. It makes me proud and honored to be able to represent this flag on my chest," said Belova.

Kazakhstan will face Hong Kong in the last game of the Pool B AVC Challenge Cup 2024, Sunday, May 26, 2024. Both teams will fight for the top two places to qualify directly for the semifinals.

Kazakhstan and Hong Kong both collected six points from three matches with two wins and one defeat.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Women's Volleyball Team will face leaders of Pool B, Vietnam, in the final party on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

Currently, Indonesia is in fourth place in the standings with three points from the result of one win and two defeats. The only victory of the Red-White Team was scored when they met Singapore with a score of 3-0.

Pedro Lilipaly's team are most likely only able to appear for the fifth place in the AVC Challenge Cup 2024.
