City's Success Is Getting More Complete, Erling Haaland Wins The 2023/24 Premier League Gold Boots

JAKARTA - Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has won the 2023/24 Premier League Golden Boot. The Norwegian forward defended his title after scoring 27 goals in 31 matches. However, this number has decreased compared to the previous season when he scored 36 goals from 35 appearances.

Despite the decline from outstanding performance to just being a superhuman, Haaland is still able to lead five goals from his closest competitor, Cole Palmer. Palmer, who made his debut year with Chelsea, ended the season with a collection of 22 goals.

"Not bad," said Haaland, who is famous for his expression of his latest individual award after the game. "Not much to say, it's better just to play football and not talk much. Let other people talk and that's better."

"[Premier League] is more difficult than I thought. Every game, every game is not like a final but not far from it. You come somewhere or even at home, you can't relax. Every game is so intense and difficult," said the former Borussia Dortmund striker.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak of Newcastle United won a bronze medal with 21 goals, of which the three players were the only 20+ club representatives this season.

Watkins of Aston Villa ended his outstanding individual campaign with a score of 19 goals but he was able to make an incredible 13 assists to complete his goal-scoring exploit.

Haaland's City teammate Phil Foden also scored 19 goals which made him the most productive midfielder. He even scored twice on the last day to help secure the Premier League title. The owner of another 19 goals was Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth.
