Shin Tae-yong Complains About Training Fields In Paris

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team has been in Paris since May 6, 2024. They have also carried out training to prepare for the U-23 Guinea in the inter-confederation playoffs.

However, Garuda Muda is constrained by training facilities in Paris. Shin Tae-yong complained that the training ground at Stede de Lagrange was less representative.

"Indeed, it's below the standard, yes. That means, it's not like in Doha. He said here the grass is the best. So, like it or not, we have to adapt to the situation and conditions here," he said.

Field problems are not the only problem experienced by Indonesian U-23 employees. Weather and fitness factors are also a serious concern.

Therefore, Shin Tae-yong admitted that the reason for leaving early for Paris was for weather adaptation and physical consolidation.

As is known, during the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup in Doha, Qatar had a very hot weather of about 35 degrees Celsius.

However, in Paris it is currently relatively cold (about 12 degrees Celsius) so the adaptation of players to the weather and physical recovery must be carried out in advance.

"So, there are indeed difficulties with food and sleeping problems. We also rush to order hotels and others because it can only be done after the match is finished in Doha. So, there is a slight problem," said Shin Tae-yong.

During two days of training in Paris, Garuda Muda focused on physical recovery and field adaptation and weather.

Shin Tae-yong only gave light training and only a few tactical menus were carried out.

"Because we were tired, so it was just a physical recovery exercise and a short tactics. Indeed, yesterday we traveled quite far (about seven hours)."

"Like what you see, everyone is wearing a thick jacket, the temperature is pretty cold. The most important thing is actually controlling the condition of the players."

"So, psychologically we are getting tired. The important thing is that we can control the condition of the players to stay fit," said the South Korean coach.

Meanwhile, the inter-confederation playoffs between Indonesia U-23 vs Guinea U-23 will be held at the National Du Football de Clairefontaine Center, France, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, WIB night.
