JAKARTA - A funny incident was seen during a press conference ahead of the U-23 vs Uzbekistan Indonesia national team match. Due to the ridiculous behavior of the U-23 Indonesian national team winger, Shin Tae-yong was forced to hold back laughter.

Before the Indonesian U-23 national team against Uzbekistan in the semifinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup on Monday, April 29 evening WIB, a pre-match press conference was held. On the agenda of Sunday, April 29 afternoon WIB, Witan Sulaeman was seen accompanying Shin Tae-yong.

When he was about to comment on the media crew, Witan actually did something that made the coach have to hold back laughter. The player apparently forgot to turn on the microphone in front of him.

Shin Tae-yong, who realized it, then pointed at the microphone. However, Witan made a mistake because the coach was not fluent in Indonesian. Instead of turning on the microphone as ordered by the coach, Witan even brought the loudspeaker closer to his mouth.

Realizing the language problem, Shin Tae-yong immediately reached out to the microphone to turn the device on. Witan, who caught the wrong one, then smiled, felt embarrassed.

After helping Witan, Shin did not immediately return to his position. Seeing the player's funny behavior, Shin instead grabbed him for a while and saw Witan's surprised look in the face.

Despite that moment, Shin as the coach stated that the unseeded U-23 Indonesian national team was ready to provide fierce resistance to Uzbekistan, which is touted as a strong candidate for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup champion.

"This will not be an easy semifinal. (But) so far we are in good form, have good preparation," Shin Tae-yong said at a press conference ahead of the opposing Uzbekistan.
