JAKARTA - Marc Marquez had an accident while undergoing a Spanish MotoGP sprint race. Regarding the incident, the Gresini Racing racer explained the reason.

Marquez admitted that the accident he experienced was not because he was riding a motorbike outside the line, but because he touched the wet part of the track which made him lose control.

"We had an accident again but this time it wasn't because we were driving over the line. Like many other racers, I touched the wet part and lost control of the front tire," Marc Marquez was quoted as saying by Crash on Sunday, April 28.

Marquez did perform brilliantly in the Spanish MotoGP sprint race. He took pole position and successfully chased Jorge Martin in the middle after falling to third at the start of the race, even though after that he had an accident.

"It's really very difficult to control everything today. But the most positive thing is that I got up and had time to lead the race," he continued.

The 31-year-old admitted that he did not realize there was a wet spot at bend nine so he could not anticipate this well.

"And at the nine corner, I didn't realize there was a wet part. Then in the finish line I checked and there was only a wet spot as long as 20 cm that caused the accident," he explained.

Even though he had an accident, Marc Marquez was able to continue racing and finish in sixth position.

Marc Marquez's chance to gain more points is still wide open. Because during the main race of the Spanish MotoGP on Sunday, April 28, he started from pole position again.
