The 2024 Olympic Fire Was Brought From Olympia To Paris Using A Century-made Ship

JAKARTA - The Olympic fire will be handed over to the organizers of Paris 2024 at an event at the Panathenaic Stadium made entirely of marble, where the first modern Olympics were in 1896, on Friday (26/4).

Nana Mouskouri, an 89-year-old Greek singer, was invited to appear at the event.

On Saturday (27/4), the fire will begin its journey to France by boarding a ship made in the 19th century, which was launched just weeks after the Athens Olympics in 1896.

The ship, which traveled trade to Brazil, Guyana, and West Indies for nearly two decades, is expected to arrive in Marseille on May 8.

Ten thousand torch carriers will then carry the fire across 64 French territory.
