JAKARTA – Indonesia already has 11 athletes who have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The following is a list of those who have pocketed tickets for the four-yearly event. The two latest tickets were secured by badminton players from the mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari and weightlifter Nurul Akmal. The tickets to France were pocketed by Rinov/Pitha after they made sure they remained ranked 16th in the final ranking of the Olympic qualifiers or Road to Olympic. They will remain in that position after stopping in the last 16 of the 2024 Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) which will last until this weekend. Rinov/Pitha are confirmed to have flown to France after Singapore doubles Hee Yong Kai Terry/Tan Wei Han Jessica and Indonesian pair Dejan Ferdiansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja also stopped in the last 16 of the BAC. Meanwhile, female lifter Nurul Akmal qualified for Paris because she received a continental quota allocation in the +81 kilogram class. He was the third weightlifter to qualify following his colleagues Eko Yuli Irawan and Rizky Juniansyah. In the top 10 Olympic qualifications, participants from five continents have been represented. For this reason, the existing quota is given to lifters outside the top 10 so that Nurul is one of the quotas.
