Xavi Hernandez After Barcelona Beat Atletico Madrid: This Is Our Best Performance

JAKARTA - Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid 3-0 at the Metropolitan Stadium in the 29th week of La Liga 2023/2024, Monday, March 18, 2024, early morning WIB.

The Blaugrana's three winning goals were contributed by Joao Felix (38'), Robert Lewandowski (47'), and Fermin Lopez (65').

Barca manager, Xavi Hernandez, praised the sky level of his team who brought home three points from Atletico headquarters.

He even said that the team's performance this time was the best since he came to Camp Nou.

"One of the best performances of the season, if not the best. This is an ideal match for our methodology and philosophy."

"Our game went perfectly. The defense ensured that they (Atletico) never created many chances."

The victory from Atletico's home brought Barcelona to second place in the 2023/2024 La Liga standings.

They shifted Girona, who in the same week lost to Getafe. Now Barca are stuck to Real Madrid which is at the top with a difference of eight points.

No wonder that situation made Xavi still dream of winning the league title. There are still nine games left with a maximum of 27 points.

Kans Barcelona defended last season's title still open. Moreover, they are in a positive trend.

Barca took 20 points from a maximum of 24 points available throughout the last La Liga match. At least, the consequences of this slick performance brought the Blaugrana to a place in the Spanish Super Cup and Champions League next season.

Xavi clearly wants to leave a positive impression at the end of this season. Because of that, he triggered his team to pursue a dream as long as the opportunity was wide open.
