The U-20 Indonesian Volleyball National Team One Pool With Saudi Arabia At The U-20 Asian Volleyball Championship

JAKARTA - The Indonesian U-20 men's volleyball national team joined Saudi Arabia in pool A of the U-20 Asian Volleyball Championship U-20 2024.

Quoted from AVC's official statement, Tuesday, the Red and White team will meet Saudi Arabia and are still waiting for two potential opponents in pul A who are still undergoing qualifications in the eastern zone and Oceania zone.

"This is the first time in Indonesia's history to host this championship after successfully holding the AVC Challenge Cup for Women2023 in Gresik. Based on the results of the draw, the host Indonesia is members of Pul A with Saudi Arabia, the East Zone, and Oceania," wrote the official AVC website as reported by Antara.

Indonesia will find potential opponents from the western zone including Hong Kong, Macau, and Mongolia. While in the Oceania zone there are Australia and New Zealand.

In Pul B there was a fierce battle between defending champions and two consecutive champions of Iran meeting with four Chinese champions and two Taiwan and Qatar black horses.

Meanwhile, in pul C it consists of India, then the finalists in the previous edition of Bahrain, Bangladesh, Kuwait, and the three-time Japan champion.

Meanwhile, in Pul D there is a champion in three editions of the tournament, South Korea is a member of Thailand and two countries are fighting for qualifying tickets in the central and southeast zones.

The tournament, which will take place in Surabaya from June 23 to 30, has become a tournament by adopting the format of 16 teams that were first held.

In the previous edition of the AVC Asian Championship U-20, it still uses the format 21 teams and without going through the qualifying stage for ticket matches in the zone.
