Filip Hrgovic Replace Tyson Fury To Face Oleksandr Usyk?

Filip Hrgovic is rumored to be replacing Tyson Fury in the fight against Oleksandr Usyk (Instagram/@filip_hrgovic).

JAKARTA - The Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight titled Fight of the Century in Saudi Arabia on February 17, 2024 was officially postponed following Fury's severe injury during training on February 2, 2024.

Filip Hrgovic's name immediately surfaced after the cancellation of the duel. Rumors circulated that the Croatian boxer was being explored as Fury's replacement for Usyk on February 17, 2024.

However, Tyson Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, was reluctant to respond to the rumors.

"The biggest blow happened to Tyson. He has trained very hard for this fight. Unfortunately, he was seriously injured."

"His eyes were stuck with his elbows. So, (the fight) was canceled. I'm sure the new date will be announced."

"My condolences to Tyson and Usyk for training for the fight," Warren said at TalkSport.

Frank Warren further confirmed that the battle between Fury and Usyk will continue and be rescheduled.

"Of course I did (holding the Fury vs Usyk match). That's something everyone is looking forward to."

"It's a big fight, the biggest fight of the century, there's no doubt about it."

"This is a fight everyone wants and because of Riyadh Season, His Majesty (Saudi Arabian Kingdom), and the rest of his team. That's why this fight (must) happen and nothing will interfere or stop it."

"It is very unfortunate that our current condition. However, we will make sure it happens because this is a fight that everyone wants to see," Warren said again.

After the announcement of the cancellation of the fight, Usyk was still seen practicing until now. This further strengthens rumors about Filip Hrgovic who will replace Fury.
