Not Wanting To Repeat Mistakes In The Bundesliga, Bayern Munich Will Be Wary Of Lazio From The Start Of The Match

JAKARTA - Bayern Munich will be wary of Lazio from the start when the two meet in the first leg of the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday morning. FC Hollywood is trying to avoid similar mistakes as they have done in the last two Bundesliga matches.

Bayern have won six titles in the past nine months but stumbled in their last two league games, each drawing 3-3 against Arminia Bielefeld and losing 2-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

In both matches Bayern were two goals down and forced to struggle to turn things around this season they have done too often.

"We know what happened in the last few days," said Bayern coach Hansi Flick of the two games last week. "Against Lazio I wanted us to be there as a team from the start."

"We have views on how we want to play and we have to do that from the start."

Flick, who has lost a number of key players to injury and COVID-19 infection including Corentin Tolisso and Thomas Mueller, needs some good news after a seven-pound lead narrowed to two points in less than a week.

"I will not make excuses. The first half against Bielefeld and against Frankfurt was not good. But we can be satisfied in the second half," said Flick.

"When the Champions League starts we have to be at the peak of performance. But seeing the last few weeks there have been many games, a lot of pressure on the team and a number of players missing."

Bayern won the Club World Cup recently this month before returning from Qatar for two league matches in a total of six matches and then traveling to Rome this week.

"I'm positive. It was a special match and I predict that the team is particularly motivated," concluded Flick.
