JAKARTA - The captain of the Indonesian national team, Asnawi Mangkualam, will be part of the squad that will appear in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup. The national team's first match will be against Iraq on Monday, January 15, evening of Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

The day before the match, Asnawi emphasized that the condition of the Indonesian national team was better than when they met the Mesopotamian Lions squad two months ago in the 2026 World Cup qualifying event.
