Deontay Wilder Believes In Knocking Out Joseph Parker In 3 Or 4 Rounds

JAKARTA The former world title holder, Deontay Wilder, is confident that he will knock out (KO) of former world champion Joseph Parker.

Both names will enter the ring on December 23, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They are on a card that will feature the main duel Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin.

Wilder dared to say the fight would not last for 12 rounds. He believes he will make his opponent give up in the early rounds.

"You already know, knockout (KO)," Wilder said when asked how quickly he hoped to beat Parker in an interview with ESNews quoted by Boxing Scene.

Deontay Wilder has been out of the ring for more than a year. Boxer from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this was the last time he got into the ring on October 22, 2022, beating Robert Helenius.

KO's victory in the first round marked the boxer's comeback after previously losing twice in a row against Tyson Fury. The two defeats cost him the WBC title.

Wilder hopes that against Parker later he will need more or less the same time as his last fight to stop the opponent.

"In my head, I think (duels will only take place) three or four (ronde only). That's how I think."

"However, I will not force anything. I will only do my best. That match will end in KO," he said.

On the other hand, Parker, who is also a former heavyweight world champion, came into this game after securing three straight wins after falling in Joe Joyce's hands in September 2022.

Meanwhile, if Wilder can beat Parker then he fights Anthony Joshua very openly. That possibility would be even more interesting if Joshua also beat Otto Wallin.

Wilder and Joshua were previously expected to clash when they were both still in possession of the heavyweight belt. Unfortunately, their duel has never materialized until now.
