Fiorentina Captain Regrets Contra Roma Series Results

Cristiano Biraghi, the captain of Fiorentina, is not satisfied with the results of the series against AS Roma (Instagram/@cristiabiraghi34).

JAKARTA - Fiorentina had to settle for taking home a point from AS Roma headquarters, the Stadio Olimpico, in the 15th week of Serie A 2023/2024, Sunday, December 11, 2023.

The match, which ended 1-1, was marked by various incidents. Starting from three red cards, two for Roma and one for Fiorentina, trick of eccentric Jose Mourinho sending paper to goalkeeper Rui Patricio through the goalkeeper, to ridicule between players caught on camera.

The visitors' camp certainly regretted the one point. The reason is, Roma have played with 10 players since the 64th minute.

Indeed, La Viola managed to open the scoring in the 66th minute to equalize Roma's goal which was scored in the fifth minute.

However, after that, Fiorentina failed to record an additional goal with the advantage of the player's number. In fact, they were provoked by the hosts to play hard.

Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi expressed his disappointment. He agreed his team was unable to take advantage of opportunities.

"A game like this, even when you get a result, will never make you completely satisfied," Biraghi told DAZN.

Biraghi's dissatisfaction surfaced when he saw the fact that Roma got a red card again in the 87th minute. Romelu Lukaku followed Nicola Zalewski into the dressing room.

We should be able to better exploit certain situations. Not all bad, but also not all good. There is a bitter taste considering we don't know when we will play 11 against 9 against Roma again.

"We've grown in a number of ways, but we still have a lot to do. Our way of playing is very aggressive and burdenless."

"Those of us who are on the field must work better to understand certain moments in the game. I think we lack enthusiasm," said Biraghi.

One additional point left Fiorentina still perched in seventh place in the 2023/2024 Serie A standings with 24 points. Meanwhile, Roma is on the fourth ladder with 25 points.
