The Central Java Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) provides support for the Kudus KONI management who continues to hold district sports meetings (Musorkab) to elect a new general chairman even though they are in the midst of legal issues being faced.

"We appreciate the move by the Kudus KONI which is still trying to move the wheels of its organization in the midst of the two legal cases being faced," said Central Java KONI representative Ali Purnomo at the opening of the Musorkab at the @Hom Kudus Hotel, Saturday.

According to him, an organization went well when its organization was still in process, one of which was by holding a Musorkab in the middle of the legal case being faced.

"We hope this will bring good changes, we advise that whoever is the chairman later can continue to empower and always pay attention to his athletes," he said.

The legal case that is currently happening within the Kudus KONI is the alleged misappropriation of grant funds for the Kudus KONI for the 2022 fiscal year handled by the Kudus District Attorney and the alleged misappropriation of the budget for Poprov 2023 which is now being handled by the Central Java Police.

Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Sports Division of the Education, Youth and Sports Office of Kudus Regency, Widoro Heryanto, appreciated the steps taken by the KONI management to hold a Musorkab.

"Of course it is very important that everyone move for the future of sports in Kudus. This forum is also for previous performance evaluations," he said.

He hopes that the new elected management can maintain cohesiveness and sincerity in their work, so that they can foster athletes in Kudus to become more advanced and can excel at the regional and national levels.

Chairman of the KoNI Kudus Musorkab Committee Yusuf Istanto revealed that in this Musorkab there were two candidates promoted by a number of sports district administrators (Pengkab) to become general chairman. Among them, Sulistiyanto, who was supported by 17 sports district leaders and Nindyo Woro, supported by 12 district heads.

"Hopefully the new management will show solidarity to jointly foster athletes in Kudus to achieve even better, considering that the results of the XVI Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in 2023 are only ranked in the top 10 from the previous third rank," he said.

Sulistiyanto from the Kudus Kempo Indonesia Brotherhood Regency Manager (Perkemi) who was elected as the new chairman of the Kudus KONI admitted that he would start working by improving the internal KONI management.

"If the internal management is good, then the athlete will be trained through the regency heads so that Kudus can achieve even better," he said.
