Veda Perfects IATC 2023 Mandalika With Two Wins

LOMBOK - Indonesia's young racer Veda Ega Pratama managed to perfect the weekend after winning again in the 2023 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (IATC) race 2 which was held by MotoGp Indonesia at the Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, Sunday, October 15.

Previously in race 1 which was held on Saturday (14/10), Veda also won. With the results in race 2, Veda is getting stronger at the top of the standings with 145 points collected.

"Alhamdullah, I am very happy that the target to return to the double-winner in Mandalika can be fulfilled. I have tried to escape this two race since the beginning of the race. I continue to focus on maintaining lap time to be consistent and hope to get away quickly with other racers," said Veda when met at the Mandalika Circuit as reported by Antara.

In this Indonesian round, Veda did appear so dominant, starting from free training sessions, qualification, winning pole positions, to winning two races.

It also continued Veda's positive trend at IATC 2023 after winning three wins in the first two series, namely at the Sepang Malaysia Circuit, and Japan's Motegi Circuit.

Regarding race 2, Veda used the leading starting position as well as possible to escape from the start from the other riders behind him. Two Japanese racers Zen Mitani and Riichi Takahira who had tried to break Veda's dominance from the start.

However, Veda did not let his guard down and relaxed his spirits in order to achieve the weekend that could not be carried out in the third series of IATC 2023 which was held in his country.

"My strategy was perfect, I finished with a very safe distance from other racers. This victory makes it very important for me to make the number of points in the championship standings wider," said Veda.

The fourth round for IADC 2023 will take place at Chang International Circuit in Thailand on October 27.
