FIFA Matchday: The Indonesian National Team Lost Slightly To Argentina At SUGBK

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team suffered a narrow 0-2 defeat to Argentina on FIFA Matchday at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, Monday, June 19.

As predicted, Argentina immediately took over possession of the ball. Lionel Scaloni's squad pressed the Indonesian players to be more in the field area itself.

However, the disciplinary game shown by the Garuda Squad was still able to reduce the pressure played by Julian Alvarez and his friends.

Several golden opportunities owned by the visitors were successfully countered by Indonesian defenders. At least until the 38th minute.

The Indonesian goal, which continued to be closely guarded, finally broke too. Leandro Paredes' hard kick made the ball slide fast into the goal of the Red and White Team which was escorted by Ernando.

Indonesia is not without a chance. In the 49th minute, the Garuda squad almost broke into Argentina's goal. Starting from Asnawi's movement, the ball was then offered to Ivar Jenner who stood without an escort.

Two minutes later, Argentina actually added to the advantage. Starting from a corner, Gabriel Romero broke into Ernando's goal with a header.

Winning 2-0 did not make Argentina relax its pressure. Albiceleste continues to put pressure on Indonesia's defense.

Scaloni then made a number of changes. The input of new Argentina personnel makes it increasingly difficult for Indonesia to penetrate the visitors' defense.

Until the match ended, the Indonesian national team remained unable to break into the Argentina goal. Likewise with the visitors who failed to increase their advantage despite having several opportunities. The 2-0 score persists.
