JAKARTA - The 2023 Sudirman Cup will be held from May 14 to 21, in Suzhou, China. Continuing the tradition two years earlier, Mansion is confirmed to be one of the main sponsors. This certainty is the result of a collaboration that has indeed been agreed between the online game platform and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) for three years since 2022.

A total of 20 of the best male women's athletes departed on Thursday, May 11 through terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten. Armed with strong determination, the red and white team has the ambition to end their 34-year-old title fast.

The 2023 Sudirman Cup is the third BWF competition fully supported by M88 Mansion, after the 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup and the 2022 BWF World Championships. There are at least two other BWF grand tournaments that will also be supported by M88 Mansion after the 2023 Sudirman Cup, namely the 2023 BWF World Championships and the 2024 Thomas & Uber Cup.

Among other tournaments organized by BWF, the Sudirman Cup does have its own uniqueness side. The event, which was held for the first time in 1989 and held every two years, is a competition between countries in a mixed team format. This means that in a match that brings together the two countries, they will complain to each other in each sector, namely men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, as well as mixed doubles.

The name of the tournament itself was taken from the late Dick Sudirman who is a former Indonesian player and founder of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) So far, out of 17 editions, China is still the ruler with 12 titles (1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2019, 2021). South Korea then followed with four titles (1991, 1993, 2003, 2017) and another was obtained by Indonesia in the first edition.

This 2023 edition will be the second time Sudirman Cup uses a format of 16 participants divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group advanced to the quarter-finals and continued with the semifinals, finals, until finally the champion was obtained. Indonesia is in Group B with Thailand, Germany, and Canada.
