Betawi Silat

The leader of the Betawi Traditional Silat Association (Astrabi) who also works as the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta, Saefullah said, the typical Betawi silat is almost extinct. Saefullah also wants, the Betawi silat which has 300 silat streams can then continue to be popular until this moment.

"I observe that the typical Betawi silat is threatened with extinction. Of the 600 silat streams in Indonesia, more than 300 streams are in Betawi land. If you are unable to adapt to the changing times, it is not impossible that this Betawi prayer is just a memory," said Saefullah.
