Giuliano Simeone's Career At Atletico Madrid Was Hampered By His Father's Name

JAKARTA - Even though he is only 18 years old, Giuliano Simeone continues to amaze many people in Madrid. His performances for the Atletico Madrid youth team attracted attention.

The youngest son of coach Diego, Giuliano is now following in the footsteps of his father and siblings as a professional footballer.

He made his debut on Sunday for Atletico Madrid B and scored the team's only goal. But he discovered that his name had slowed down his career.

"If he was not Simeone's son, he would have been in the first team," several Atletico academy analysts said as reported by MARCA, Tuesday, January 19.

Previously, most of the Atletico fans called on Atleti and coach Diego to sign Guiliano's older brother, Giovanni, via social media.

The coach's son is currently playing in Serie A with Cagliari. The former Genoa and Fiorentina striker has scored five goals this season and has always expressed his desire to play for Atletico one day.

The key to Giovanni's play was finishing. If polished by his father, he would be even sharper.

The problem is, Giovanni's recruitment could threaten the harmony of the team. Nepotism, in any field, is never justified.

Just like his brother, there is quality in Giuliano's game. But with his father in the coaching chair, it will be very difficult for him to break into the main squad. Giuliano will have to show himself far from the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
