U-22 National Team Trial Monitored By Candidates Against The 2023 SEA Games? Indra Sjafri Is Not Afraid

JAKARTA The coach of the U-22 national team, Indra Sjafri, is not afraid of the trial of the Indonesia U-22 national team against Lebanon, as peeked at potential opponents to the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games group phase.

Garuda U-22, which is being prepared for the SEA Games, will undergo a trial against Lebanon at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on Friday, April 14 at 20.30 WIB.

This match will be broadcast live by one of the national television stations. Therefore, there is concern that the strength of the U-22 Indonesian national team can be peeked at by potential opponents.

"In today's digital era, people will definitely know where they want to hide. So, we can't avoid it," said Indra at the Sultan Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, April 13.

Indra explained, even though it was broadcast live, Indonesia's strength would only be predictable by potential opponents. He continued, what Indonesia's game will be like when the competition will not be known.

"I'm just ready to remember that if people know, the coach knows what his opponent will make, that means there is no need for a coach on the sidelines anymore," he said.

"So, none of the coaches in this world know what their opponents will do. They can only predict who the key players are and how he's used to playing," he added.

The series of men's soccer sports competitions in the 2023 SEA Games will begin on April 29. A total of 10 countries have been divided into two groups.

From the results of the draw, Indonesia is included in Group A with Myanmar, the Philippines, Timor Leste, and Cambodia as the host for the second anniversary of the Southeast Asian region.

Indonesia will start its journey in the group phase against the Philippines, Saturday, April 29. Following that, Indonesia will face Myanmar (May 4) in a row, Timor Leste (May 7), and Cambodia (May 10).
