Could Jose Mourinho 'be Betrayed' Roma For IDR 1.8 Trillion Offer To Train Saudi Arabia's National Team

JAKARTA AS Roma coach, Jose Mourinho, received a lucrative offer to coach the Saudi Arabian national team. He will receive a very large fee if he accepts an offer from the Middle East.

Italy's media outlet, Corriere dello Sport, said the offer was worth 120 million euros, equivalent to IDR 1.8 trillion for a two-year contract duration. The report details that Mourinho will receive IDR 977 billion per season.

Reportedly, the offer for former Real Madrid and Chelsea coaches came directly from top Saudi Arabian football officials. In the bid clause, the Portuguese tactician was also given two options.

The two options are that he is allowed to terminate his contract at the end of his first year or extend his term of service there. The option of extending it until 2026 or until the year's edition of the World Cup was held.

Mourinho himself is currently still under contract with AS Roma until 2024. However, the offer could not be rejected because he was previously frustrated with the transfer activities of the Italian capital team.

With a gray future, Mourinho is unlikely to miss the golden opportunity from the Middle East. He could determine his fate when he meets the club owner, Friedkins.

Mourinho has so far awarded the European Conference League title for AS Roma last year. The victory made him the first coach to win three European club competitions, including the European Champions League and the European League.

Unfortunately, this season Mourinho is still up and down with AS Roma in the Italian Serie A. They currently still occupy fifth place in the standings with a collection of 50 points from 28 matches.

The number of points is the same as that collected by Inter Milan, which is in last place in the top four. Both are narrowly adrift of one point from AC Milan in third and five points from Lazio in second place.

The Saudi Arabian national team was previously trained by Herve total. The French tactician shocked the world after taking Arabia to beat Argentina at the 2022 World Cup Qatar, but then left his post-tourism role.
