Discussing The Possibility Of Appearing In The 2023 U-20 World Cup In Front Of The National Team Player, Zainudin Amali: We Wait For The Chairman Of PSSI

JAKARTA - PSSI Deputy General Chair (Waketum) Zainudin Amali met with the Indonesian U-20 national team players after FIFA revoked Indonesia's status as host of the U-20 World Cup. He apologized to all ranks in the national team.

During his visit to the Sultan Hotel on Thursday, March 30, Amali did not deny that the FIFA decision had made the dreams of the players disappear.

"I apologize, I have to apologize to Shin Tae-yong and the team of managers," said Zainudin Amali.

"Especially for all children who have lost their dreams of being able to play in the World Cup. The dream of a footballer is to be able to play in the World Cup," he said.

Furthermore, the FIFA decision which has crossed out Indonesia from the status of the host of the 2023 U-20 World Cup also raises many questions. One of them is about the Indonesian opportunity to continue appearing in the grand event of young age.

Regarding this matter, Zainudin Amali has not been able to provide much information. According to him, Indonesia is currently still waiting for further decisions.

Currently, PSSI still has to wait for General Chair Erick Thohir to return from Qatar to be able to determine the next steps.

"Right now, we don't know the next fate because after being transferred (the status of the host) can we still be participants from the 24 (states involved) or not, we don't know yet," he explained.

"We are waiting for Ketum to return to Indonesia for the next step," said Amali.
